Dear Families,
We had a great time at the KIA on Tuesday. The students all did a fantastic job answering questions and really looking at the art pieces that were presented to us. I have posted some pictures of our class on the Photos page of this site.
We are still collecting No Sugar Added dried and canned fruit for Loaves and Fishes.
We have a busy few weeks coming up! Here are some of the highlights for your calendar.
May 1-Field trip to the KIA for a joint presentation between the KIA ad Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. Please have your child wear his or her chapel shirt.

Please read the note from Miss Voetberg:
We are looking forward to seeing you at our Parent Presentation of our Grandparent's Day program on Thurs. May 9 at 6:30 PM. Students should plan to arrive and be in their classroom at 6:15 PM. Come early and enjoy our Elementary Art Show. Please keep your student(s) with you until 6:15 when their classroom door will be opened. We consider this performance to be a family event so if you bring performer's siblings, please make sure that they sit with you and not somewhere on the bleachers by themselves. If younger children are being noisy we respectfully ask that you take them to the atrium so those around you are able to listen without distraction.
Students should plan to wear blue jeans or dark pants/shorts on the bottom and their blue KCES "Growing in God's Word" themed t-shirt for both performances of our program. We will be presenting our program to Grandparents on Friday May 10 at 9:00 AM. Please have Grandparents' come early so they can enjoy the Art Show. Coffee and donuts will be served at 10:00 AM.
One final note: performances like this are a lot of work and we could use your help. If you are willing and able to help with stage set-up or take-down, or to greet parents and grandparents please contact Krista Voetberg at [email protected]. We are excited and looking forward to showing you all our work.
